intaglio prints, mostly 19 x 36 inches
I was fascinated by the ocean views while travelling seaside in Okinawa. Several watercolor sketches were painted in my small sketch book. They were useful and inspirational back in the States. Equally interestingly, summer grass at a friend's yard gave me a shot of energy for producing brush strokes. Copper plates were prepared at VanDeb Editions in New York. Brush strokes are important elements in my work. They give movement and contrast to the background colors which often take rectangular shapes, and act as a stable environment for all to come. The final images were created back in my studio in Ithaca.
